Senate Bill 201

South Dakota has become ground zero in the fight for two of our most fundamental rights – local governance and the right to own property. In an effort to prove that those rights are not for sale in our state, a Petition to refer SB201 to a vote of the people was successfully circulated with an overwhelming number of signatures, and certified by the South Dakota Secretary of State to appear as “Referred Law 21” on the ballot in the November, 2024, General Election. As citizens, we are up against corporate interests with deep pockets that have put a price tag on our freedoms.

On February 27, 2024, I emailed this letter to our S.D. House of Representatives members prior to their vote on SB201.

I’m writing to ask you, as a member of the S.D. House, to vote against SB201.

Would this pipeline debate be happening if it wasn’t for the federal government passing the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act? That grossly mis-named Act promises huge bribe money to ethanol plants for meeting an arbitrary emissions standard to produce “low carbon ethanol”.

  • Carbon dioxide is currently the preferred lever used by climate alarmists to strike fear of doom if we don’t minimize what to them is an evil greenhouse gas. Do they, and you, know that Wikipedia says atmospheric CO2 is the primary carbon source for life on Earth?!
  • The issue of global warming is not settled as a fact or for that matter, a negative. Some biologists have stated that plant life on earth would grow better if atmospheric CO2 was higher than it currently is. That should be of high interest to the ethanol producers, not?
  • Numerous scientists have refuted the supposed “evidence” of global warming. Dr. Patrick Moore (co-founder of Greenpeace, would you believe?) says government grants are often awarded based on whether the preferred political narrative is going to be bolstered by the individual or organization seeking funding. So, the “science” is tainted. Should that surprise us?
  • Please spend under 2 minutes listening from 23:15-23:45 and 28:30-29:45:
  • CO2 sequestration is one more step to get people to believe that global warming is real, and keep us on the road to their goal of eliminating the evil internal combustion engine. Then who’s going to buy ethanol?
  • In my opinion, Summit Carbon Solutions is just after money, not any supposed climate solution. Same with the ethanol plants?
The current CO2 debate in South Dakota has completely skipped over the fact that the whole premise of CO2-caused “global warming” is predicated on unfounded “science”. Why aren’t we debating the fundamental issue? If the fundamental issue is not settled, how can any sub-issues be correctly decided? I’ll be watching to see if this House debates the real, fundamental issues.

Rather than pushing for a pipeline that pumps plant food underground, is potentially very hazardous and tramples on property rights through the abuse of eminent domain, the ethanol producers should be putting out the facts and encouraging we the people to reign in a misguided government that uses our money (actually, our increased debt) to pursue a purely political agenda.

And our state government should be doing the same. Has our state legislature submitted or passed any resolution that condemns our U.S. legislators for their reckless spending? Are we upset enough about a 30+ trillion-dollar federal debt to refuse their bribe money? Are they going to quit their fool hardy policy of passing out the cash as long as we keep taking it?

Let’s recognize the facts and quit tearing ourselves apart to see who can grab the bribes. Will South Dakota lead the way?

Sincerely,

Steve Mettler

Environmental “Good guys”? Are we to believe the political narrative? Please listen 1 minute from 1:07:38 to 1:08:33.

COVID-19

In this interview, Dr. Scott Atlas gives a rare on-site, first-hand look at the incompetence and lies of these two top presidential advisors during the early days of the pandemic. Dr. Atlas: “These people were completely wrong, and the sad part was they had no data. There was never a single meeting, and this is sort of shocking to even keep reliving, not a single time where Deborah Birx or Anthony Fauci or Robert Redfield brought scientific papers into the meeting. I think, like you said, the era of just trusting the experts is over. They have undermined their own credibility. The lack of trust is caused by the behavior of the public health leaders, by the guidance, by the demonization of people who didn’t want to take the vaccine, by the mandates that should have never been in place – literally never been in place – for covid vaccines for anybody in a free society. “
